Did you know that how we think about aging impacts our health -- and longevity? Using topics from books about overcoming the negative influences of our society, we will explore our own thoughts on aging, spot examples of how society perpetuates negative images, and find ways to counter those influences.

Easter Sunday

10:30 AM10:30

Easter Sunday

Easter (April 5th):  “Resurrection is Not a Single Story” with Rev. Danielle

Service and religious education at 10:30

While the four gospels provide a relatively uniform account of Jesus’s crucifixion, they offer us a beautiful diversity of perspectives on the resurrection. On Easter, let us explore why resurrection can’t be confined to a single story and celebrate the communal, creative work it takes for abundant life to triumph in the face of violence and loss.

Religious Education: During RE, there will be special Easter activities for our younger children, while our older youth help out with setup for our egg hunt.

Eggs for our hunt are always donated by our congregation. We have plenty of empty eggs that you will be able to pick up at the church! We ask that any candy is nut-free and egg-free (many common candies are both), as well as wrapped in case the eggs pop open. List:  https://bit.ly/FCeastercandy

Palm Sunday Service

Palm Sunday Service

In her poem “Palm Sunday,” poet Kathy Coffey writes, “We know the end, yet walk this way with song.” On Palm Sunday, Jesus and his followers enter Jerusalem—a destination where they know confrontation and death await them—with a parade . What can this story teach us today about acts of hope, joy, and defiance, even when loss feels inevitable.

Service begins at 10:30. Weather permitting, we will gather at 10:20 on the front steps (and in the Cleveland Room for those needing an accessible entrance) and process into the sanctuary together with our palms. If you have church-friendly signs from the prior day’s “No Kings” protest, feel free to process in with those as well!
