"To Welcome the Stranger: A sermon about living in Salem in October": I've preached a lot of sermons about journeying on pilgrimage but until now, I've never preached about receiving pilgrims. But in many ways, that is what we are asked to do in October. What are they many visitors who pass through our city seeking when they come here? What are our obligations to them? And what can we learn about our own history and faith when we choose to welcome them?
