WHAT WINTER REVEALS

Madeleine L’Engle once wrote that winter, with its bare branches, “reveals the structure of things.” As we look towards a new year, what can we learn from this season where so much is laid bare and the deep structure of things is revealed?

In Religious Education: As we enter the new year together, we will begin to explore what causes matter most to us as a group as we begin the process of choosing an organization to raise money for. We will get curious about how we approach social justice using the UU Common Read, We Are the Builders.

Services are held every Sunday at 10:30am with Sunday School taking place concurrently. Following the service we have a coffee hour known as Fellowship where all are welcome. Limited street parking is available, but there are public metered lots nearby.

Gathered by the Puritans of Massachusetts Bay Colony in August of 1629, First Church is one of the oldest Protestant churches founded in North America and the first to be governed by congregational polity.

We welcome and celebrate various theological, philosophical and spiritual diversity. We espouse and work to live the values of freedom, reason, interdependence, equity, justice, transformation, pluralism, and generosity as pathways to honoring love as our central tenet. We do not ask what you believe or expect you to think in a specific way; we only ask that you work to live a kind, helpful life with dignity.
