First Church in Salem Summer Schedule

  • June 21: UUA General Assembly Watch Party and Bubble Sunday

    Join the first Church community at 10:30 in the Cleveland room for a morning of fellowship and connection with our wider faith. We will gather at 10:30 for coffee and snacks and then join with UU’s around the country at 11:00 to watch the livestream of General Assembly Sunday Worship. The children and youth will be celebrating Bubble Sunday with outdoor activities and fun!

  • June 28: North Shore Pride Service, 2:30 PM, Tabernacle Congregational Church

    Leaders and community members from across the North Shore will gather for an Interfaith Pride Service— a joyful, healing, and spiritually grounded celebration of the LGBTQ+ community. The service, rooted in the theme "How Good It Is To Be Together," brings together clergy and congregants from Jewish, Christian, Buddhist, and Unitarian Universalist traditions in a shared act of welcome and affirmation. The service will feature music, prayer, and readings drawn from multiple traditions and Rev. Andre Bennett of Zion Baptist Church in Lynn will speak

  • July 5, 12, and 19: No Church Service

  • July 26th: Service Lead by the Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans 

    Come celebrate the Spiritual teachings of Earth-centered traditions, which celebrate the sacred circle of life and instruct us to live in harmony with the rhythms of nature. Join the Covenant of UU Pagans for their Sunday worship, celebrating 40 years of supporting and earth-centered thinking and spirituality within the UUA, and in interfaith and political work over the years.

  • August 2: Founder’s Day Service, 10:30 in the Meeting House

    Join Diane Smith, Rev. Danielle and the First Church Community as we honor the anniversary of the church’s founding and celebrate its long history and bright future!

  • August 9, 16, 23, and 30: Lay-led services,10:30 in the Cleveland room or outside

    Come together to worship in a laid-back setting with thoughtful reflections, readings, and music from First Church Community members.

  • September 6: End of Summer service led by Rev. Danielle at 10:30 in the Meeting House

  • September 13th: Homecoming! Beginning of the new church year

Staff Schedules:

  • Danielle’s Schedule:

    Rev. Danielle will be out of the office for vacation, study leave, and continuing education from June 20th through the end of July. She will only be checking email periodically, so in the event of a pastoral care emergency, please reach out to the pastoral care team (Pastoralcare@firstchurchsalem.org) or Catherine who can alert Rev. Danielle. 

    She will be back in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Thursdays starting in August.

  • Catherine’s Schedule:

    Catherine will be available by appointment only July 6-31. The office will be closed July 2nd and July 3rd. Drop in hours will resume the first Tuesday in August.

  • Theo’s Schedule:

    Theo works at First Church for 10 months off the year, so after Sunday June 21st, she will be out of the office and away from email for 2 months. She’ll be back in late August to start preparing for the 26-27 church year.
